Gagik Melikyan highly praises visit of the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to Tsitsernakaberd

YEREVAN, JULY 7, ARMENPRESS: Member of the Armenian Republican Party Gagik Melikyan highly praised the visit of the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to Tsitsernakaberd which Azerbaijan and Turkey did not like. At a news conference today Melikyan said that this big event shows the high human values of the US Secretary of State and is much more important than her visit to the Shiites alley in Azerbaijan.

As to the opinions and expressions voiced recently connected with the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and Karabakh conflict, the speaker particularly highlighted the statement of Clinton that ensuring peace and long-lasting stability in the region is one of the important principles of the US policy. G. Melikyan draw the attention on the statement of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev who said the NK issue will not be solved by the USA but the latter will assist the parties in finding peaceful solution on the basis of non-usage of force or threat of force, self-determination of the people as well as territorial integrity.

The speaker also considered remarkable the high opinion Clinton voiced about the initiatory policy conducted by President Serzh Sargsyan in the sphere of normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations as well as the clear negative assessment to the policy conducted by Turkey.
