YEREVAN, JUNE 30, ARMENPRESS: Member of French parliament Francois Rochbluan gave interview to the Public Television.
- Mr. Rochbluan how will you respond to the recent actions of Azerbaijan against Nagorno Karabakh?
- These actions are impossible to describe, especially when they occurred on the next day after the meeting of presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliev. It shows the real face of Azerbaijan.
- In your opinion, it is an indirect consequence of the absence of response by the international community to the warlike rhetoric and ammunition race by Azerbaijan.
- I do not have clear facts to confirm it, but it is possible that Azerbaijani leaders wished as continuation of those statements check the responses of the international community. Unfortunately, such thing did not happen.
- What may Armenia-France friendship group do headed by you to draw the attention of the French government on the situation created over Karabakh after the recent actions of Azerbaijan?
- In the coming week Armenia-France friendship group will gather and receive Armenian ambassador Vigen Chitechyan to clarify the situation. Besides, today, June 30, the Foreign Relations Commission will receive Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner, and I will draw his attention on the current state over the Nagorno Karabakh. Through Minsk group France has an important role and must give strict response to what happened as far as it is not late yet.
- Together with the group of French parliamentarians you visited Nagorno Karabakh. How is this unrecognized republic represented to the European parliamentarians?
- It was my forth tour to Nagorno Karabakh. We had an opportunity to participate in the launch of the activity of the new National Assembly. This parliament has been formed as a result of May elections which as a number of international experts stated passed at their best. Many other countries may be inspired and particularly Azerbaijan where the November parliamentary elections were described “farce”. Together with my colleagues we registered that quite good mood is dominating in the country, large volume of construction is ongoing, a hospital is being built. The country is being built and the population is growing annually. This republic demands one thing – live and it will have all the means for development.
