YEREVAN, JUNE 17, ARMENPRESS: The sooner the Nagorno Karabakh Republic is involved in the negotiations over regulation of the Nagorno Karabakh issue, the sooner peace will be consolidated in the region, political analyst Karen Bekaryan said at today’s press conference adding that for him the main party of the conflict is the Nagorno Karabakh Republic. K. Bekaryan said that no one can feel the weight of the issue as clearly as the NKR citizen.

Taking this into consideration, before the final solutions of the issues, they must first be acceptable by the Nagorno Karabakh Republic,” he said. K. Bekaryan does not have serious expectations from the meetings of the Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents, as the NKR has not returned to the table of negotiations, while the issue will find a final solution only after that. “There will be a time, when a totality of healthy comprehensions will be created, which will bring the NKR around the table of negotiations. Armenia must contribute to that as much as possible, and so it does,” K. Bekaryan said. In his opinion, Turkey’s activeness around the NKR issue results in roughening of the positions of the conflicting parties.

K. Bekaryan also said that the statements, according to which the Azerbaijani President will not partake in the meeting of the Armenian and Russian Presidents was only a PR. According to him, the Karabakh regulation is quite a complicated process, which demands time and efforts. “I am more than assured that the Azerbaijani society starts to realize that the issue on the status of Nagorno Karabakh is of essential importance and which is the most important, neither Armenia nor Karabakh will make any concession,” K. Bekaryan said.
