YEREVAN, APRIL 23, ARMENPRESS: “It is obvious that Turkey will not choose the path of regulation of relations with Armenia, of starting a true dialogue and of lifting the blockade of Armenia, thus the decision of the Armenian President on suspending the procedure of ratification of the Armenian-Turkish protocols is right,” Press Secretary of the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) Yeghisabet Chuljyan told Armenpress. According to her, Turkey continues to speak in the language of preconditions, linking the Armenian-Turkish relations with Nagorno Karabakh conflict without accepting the historical justice – the fact of the Armenian Genocide.

“During these 95 years Turkey has never wished to face its own history. The Armenian National Committee of America welcomes all the steps directed against Turkish pressures and toward international recognition of the Armenian Genocide,” Y. Chuljyan said.

Speaking of bringing the H. Res. 252 up for discussion in the US Congress, Y. Chuljyan said that it is not possible to mention a distinct time yet. “Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi welcomed the adoption of H. Res. 252 of the Armenian Genocide on behalf of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs and called not to calm down until the US government has given the definition of “genocide” to this crime.

A reception dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide was held on April 21 in the U.S. Capitol, during which a number of congressmen called B. Obama to recognize the Armenian Genocide, and expressed readiness to support the adoption of N Res. 252 in the Congress,” press secretary of the ANCA said.
