Harut Sassounian – The USA has already recognized the fact of the Armenian Genocide

YEREVAN, APRIL 23, ARMENPRESS: US former President Ronald Reagan, US House Committee have already adopted the fact of the Armenian Genocide which proves that the USA has recognized it, editor of the “Californian Courier” newspaper, Vice President of the “Lincy” Foundation Harut Sassounian said while speaking to Armenpress. He said he does not expect US President Barack Obama to utter the term “Genocide” at his April 24 speech. Harut Sassounian considers the suspension of the ratification process of the Armenian-Turkish protocols by the Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan as a positive step.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu gave assignments to the Turkish ambassadors and consuls to the North American countries to start direct dialogue with the representatives of the Armenian Diaspora. In connection with it, Harut Sassounian said that it is one of the cunning steps of Turkish diplomacy, the goal of which is to sow discord among the Diaspora Armenians. “Certain representatives of Diaspora will be for the meetings and certain will be against. I will be among those who will express against these meetings. Turkey has always wished to sow discord among the Diaspora Armenians but they did not succeed,” H. Sassounian said.
