Robert Harutyunyan: ““Shanghai 2010” is an important event for Armenia”13

YEREVAN, MARCH 15, ARMENPRESS: Armenia will be presented in “Shanghai 2010” in a peculiar way. Director General of the Armenian Development Agency Robert Harutyunyan told Armenpress that this event is of crucial importance for Armenia both with its scale and peculiar solutions for issues.

Armenia will be represented under “Mind and Time” slogan, will present “The City of the World” project the main idea of which is to show the architectural trace of Armenians in the world.

The director general explained that by presenting the old, Armenia’s perception of the city of future will be shown according to which the world may develop in the way of reconciliation and creation.

“During the 6-month of the exhibition we will try to present Armenia in a peculiar way. The Chinese organizers have already highly praised our program: we are the only country which was given an opportunity to refresh, reform its program during the exhibition,” R. Harutyunyan said.

He says it is a very good decision as the main sense of the program is the development and “it will be interesting to see the development of a city throughout the exhibition”.

R. Harutyunyan said that many countries will come forth voicing the ecologic issues. “The classification of our pavilions reminds a tree which will symbolize development of the world and raising of ecologic issues,” he said.

“Shanghai 2010” will be conducted under “Welfare City, Welfare Life” slogan. The chief commissioner for preparation of the Armenia’s participation in the exhibition is the RA Economy Ministry, the national operator is the Armenian Development Agency. About 185 countries and 45 organizations have presented applications for participation in this exhibition.

The exhibition, organized once in five years, will be unprecedented with its volume and scale. It will be conducted from May 1 to October 30.
