YEREVAN, MARCH 1, ARMENPRESS: Events dedicated to the 22nd anniversary of the memory of Sumgait victims were held on February 27 in the German capital of Berlin, organized by German-Armenian community organizations.
Armenian Foreign Ministry press service told Armenpress that a mourning liturgy was held in St. Luizen Church of Berlin; afterward a memorial evening dedicated to the 22nd anniversary of the memory of Sumgait victims was organized in the hall of the municipality of Sharlotenbourg.
Armenian Ambassador to Germany Armen Martirosyan, Permanent Representative of Nagorno Karabakh Republic Gayane Apinyan and famous specialist of Armenian studies Tessa Hoffman delivered speeches during the event. Representatives of Greek and Iranian communities of Germany, as well as Germans participated in the event. Chronicle-documentary video materials on Sumgayit tragedy were shown at the event.
