15,000 people visited “Xocali.net” web site in recent days

YEREVAN, MARCH 1, ARMENPRESS: During the past 4 days about 15,000 people visited “Xocali.net” web site which has widely spread in the net. Expert Samvel Martirosyan said today at a meeting with reporters that on one hand the site is being promoted by Armenians, who are trying to make the information available for wider population, on the other hand the web site has received a wide response by the Azerbaijani party.

“The Azerbaijanis are always speaking about that web-site, they are writing that it is nonsense and they insist that the Armenian government has spent huge amounts on preparing it but in reality 108 USD have been spent on it,” Samvel Martirosyan said.

According to him, February 24 when the web site started functioning, it was a very inconvenient day for the Azerbaijani side as they have prepared a great number of materials in the format of pictures and posters. They have produced several films beforehand. “These materials as we have earlier found out are false and on the last moment they were forces not to show them,” the expert said, adding that during the recent few days the site has been many times attacked but the resource was not enough to break it.

Chairwoman of the “Hatred Prevention Initiative” NGO Armine Adibekyan said that the Azerbaijanis are using the photos of dead bodies of all the accidents and disasters taken place in the world to accuse Armenians in different crimes.

A. Adibekyan said that now the lists of the victims of Khojalu are being updated in the web site, there are repeating surnames.

The “Xocali.net” web site is in Russian, Azerbaijani, German languages and the French and Persian variants are being prepared.
