44 Kilos of Heroin Intercepted at Turkish-Bulgarian Border Checkpoint

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 23, ARMENPRESS: Border police officers intercepted 44 kg of heroin in a Mercedes truck passing via the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint on its way from Turkey to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Interior Ministry said in a press release. The truck which carried textiles was driven by a Turkish driver. He was accompanied by a national of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The drug was found in 71 packs hidden in three rolls of fabric. The two persons were detained, as well as one more national of Bosnia and Herzegovina who travelled separately. The operation was conducted in close cooperation with the Turkish authorities.
