YEREVAN, OCTOBER 27, ARMENPRESS:About 826 crimes connected with drugs have been registered during the nine months of the running year against 549 of the past year. The 819 of the revealed crimes are cases of illegal drug trafficking and 329 of them cases of selling drugs. Head of the department of fighting against organized crime Hunan Poghosyan said today that 448 of the revealed cases come to share to Yerevan. With the 2009 August decision of the heads of CSTO member states September 28 the first round of the “Channel 2009” complex operative event was held in Yerevan the goal of which is to solve the issue of entrance of Afghan drugs in smuggling way and prevent the legalization of money got from the illegal sale of drugs. The head of the department said during the events 19 cases connected with drug trafficking have been revealed and 23 people subjected to punishment.
