Masquerade-parade within the frameworks of “SunChild” second international nature protection festival

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 26, ARMENPRESS:Masquerade-parade was held October 25 within the frameworks of “SunChild” second international nature protection festival. Over 500 juniors in zodiac cloths made from trashes encouraged the passer-byes to join the nature protection events to be extended in the upcoming days. The masquerade- parade started from Matenadaran and finished in front of “Moscow” cinema. During the whole period of the masquerade-parade the juniors handed flower seed to passer-byes by making them participants of the event in such a way. “The goal of the masquerade is to raise the issue on animal rights’ defense, to remind the society about the responsibility they have for the surrounding environment”, head of media and information department Ani Yeghiazaryan told Armenpress. The students of the all Yerevan and province eco-clubs under the Armenian Fund for Protecting Wild Nature and Cultural Values participated in the masquerade of animals. Through the masks and clothes the children also raised the issue on harmful trashes. “The use of trashes in making the masquerade clothes aims to remind people about the great harm that cause some materials to nature and to show them alternative, more beautiful and interesting ways of use”, Coordinator of Yerevan eco-club Ani Petrosyan said. According to responsible of the festival Ani Tovmasyan, the event aims not only to raise a number of nature protection issues, but also to encourage people to have their own contribution to the solution of those issues. Every school has an opportunity of winning 200 000 AMD in the nominations of “Best Nature Protection Cloth” and “Best Creative Solution”.
