Asian Ecumenical course to be held in Kolkata

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 26, ARMENPRESS:From October 19 to 29, an Ecumenical Leadership Formation Program is being held in Kolkata, India, organized by the Christian Conference of Asia. The theme of the Ecumenical Course is ‘Living Together in the Household of God.’ Representatives from Christian churches all over Asia participated in the Asian Ecumenical Course (2009). Reverend Father Avetis Hambardzumyan, administrator of Armenian College and Philanthropic Academy represented the Armenian Apostolic Church at the program. One of the objectives of the program is to pay a visit to regional churches. On Sunday 25th October, 2009 a delegation led by Rev. Dr. A. Wati Longchar, and Dr. Ms. Hope S. Antone of Christian Conference Asia attended church service at the Saint Gregory Armenian Church, Kolkata. The Divine Liturgy was conducted by Rev. Fr. Avetis. In the beginning of the service Reverend Father greeted and welcomed the guests and stated that the Armenian Apostolic Church is very much interested in the Ecumenical movement and is looking forward to creating closer ties with the other Christian communities and denominations. At the conclusion of the service the dignitaries spoke to students of the Armenian College about their daily lives.-0-/45/
