YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS:It is necessary to pick up lessons from what happened March 1-2 2008 in Yerevan and undertake measures to avoid such cases in future, ombudsman Armen Harutyunyan said today at the meeting with the reporters. Referring to the report of parliamentary ad hoc commission, he noted that in general it presents all the cause and effect links. The suggestions of the commission clearly reveal the causes which made people to apply to extreme measures. And to the question why the conclusion does not speak about those who are guilty for the death of the people, Harutyunyan said that the commission could not have done the work of the investigators: it is law enforcers who must give answers to this question. The ombudsman also highlighted the suggestion on creating a monitoring group in the NA which must follow the implementation of the suggestions presented in the conclusion.
