YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS:National service of seismic defense of the Armenian Emergency Situations Ministry will conduct trainings in the schools of the republic. Head of the Public relations and international cooperation department of the National service of seismic defense Hamlet Bisharian told Armenpress that the trainings will be held in 22 schools of Yerevan, 6 schools in Armavir and Aragatsotn province and 4 schools of Ararat province. Trainings will also be held in certain big towns of the republic and in Nagorno Karabakh Republic. According to H. Bisharian theoretical as well as practical courses will be held. The employees of the National Service of Seismic Defense have already conducted such trainings in a number of Armenian schools before the end of the academic year. On the data of the first semester 8,655 pupils and students, 716 teachers and lecturers, 648 pre-school children and nurses have taken part in the training courses. During summer the employees of the service have conducted trainings in the resort houses, camps, particularly in Tsakhkadzor and Aghveran. The seismic service has worked out behavior rules how must each person behave before, during and after the earthquake. Together with the “Armenian Red Cross” guidelines, booklets have been issued which are spread not only in schools and other establishments, but also in factories, municipalities, talks and trainings are organized. The enterprises also show great interest towards the trainings. According to H. Bisharian they are mainly interested in prediction of the earthquake and behavior rules. “People are very concerned with the seismicity of their buildings. Companies often apply to us to get conclusion of the seismicity of their buildings”, H. Bisharian said. Due to different events the Seismic service tries to reduce the seismic risks which are material and human losses conditioned by a strong earthquake.
