YEREVAN, JULY 28, ARMENPRESS:Six Armenian cities and towns have signed sister-town agreements with 36 cities and towns in different countries. The press division of the Armenian Foreign Ministry told Armenpress that Yerevan has signed sister-city agreements with 26 cities. The first was signed in 1965 with Italian Karrara and the last was signed with Los Angeles, USA, in 2007. The second largest Armenian city of Gyumri has signed sister-town agreements with Alexandria (USA), Osasko (Brazil) and Plovdiv (Bulgaria). The third largest town of Vanadzor signed the first such agreement with French Bagnio in 1968, and also with Pasadena in the USA and Batumi in Georgia. Ijevan’s sister town is French Valence, Jermuk has signed agreements with Sain Rafael, Kapanin and Glendale in the USA. Nagorno-Karabkh’s capital Stepanakert has signed a sister-town agreement with Montebello in California, USA.
