ARMENIAN AMBASSADOR TO SYRIA MEETS WITH SYRIAN

ENERGY, ISLAMIC HERITAGE MINISTERS AND CHIEF MUFTI YEREVAN, JULY 8, ARMENPRESS:Armenian ambassador to Syria Arshak Poladian conducted on June 7 meetings with the Syrian Energy Minister Ahmad Khaled Alii, Minister of Islamic Heritage Muhammad Abd al-Sattari and chief mufti Badr al-Din Hasun. Armenian Foreign Ministry press service told Armenpress that during the meeting with the Energy Minister Ahmad Khaled Alii the sides presented to each other the energy systems of the two countries, the achievements registered in the sphere and the existing issues. They also spoke about the prospects of cooperation. At the meeting with the Minister of Islamic Heritage the latter presented the circle of the activity of the ministry as well as pointed out the existing atmosphere of religious tolerance in the country. The Armenian ambassador suggested that a joint conference be organized in collaboration with the ministry dedicated to the dialogue of civilizations. During the meeting with the mufti the sides discussed the details of the visit of the Catholicos Karekin II. The mufti handed the invitation to the ambassador and said that the visit will greatly promote the consolidation of friendship between the two peoples.
