FAMOUS ARMENIAN ACTOR HONORED IN RUSSIAN SAINT PETERSBURG

YEREVAN, MAY 9, ARMENPRESS:On April 28 the 70-th birth anniversary of famous Armenian actor, Vladimir Msryan, was marked in Russia’s Saint Petersburg’s Cinema House. The event also celebrated the 25-th anniversary of a film about famous Italian violinist, Nicolo Paganini, in which the Armenian actors played the leading role. Speaking to a news conference today in Yerevan Vladimir Msryan said he was awarded a Saint Petersburg’s medal, which is awarded to people for their contribution to the cultural progress of the second largest Russian city. “I was very touched and happy to have received the medal and I am thankful to my Russian friends for organization of both celebrations,’ he said, adding that virtually all people who made the film were present. The film was shot in 1982. For his excellent play Vladimir Msryan was called by Italians ‘the best Paganini of all nations and times.’
