YEREVAN, MARCH 14, ARMENPRESS:More teachers of Armenian language from secondary schools across the country will have this year a course on Western Armenian dialect. The course is handled by Spyurk research center. Suren Danielian, head of Spyurk center, told Armenpress that teachers are being selected at their schools. The course is taught by specialists from Armenia and abroad. This program has been implemented since 2002. Western Armenian is one of the two modern dialects of Armenian, an Indo- European language spoken by the Armenian Diaspora, mainly in North America, Europe and most of the Middle East except for Iran. It is also spoken in a few communities in Turkey. It is based on the Armenian dialect of Constantinople (Istanbul).
