ARMENIAN CHESS PLAYERS CONCEDE THEIR POSITIONS IN EUROPEAN TEAM CHESS CUP

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 23, ARMENPRESS: Yerevan “Mika” playing with black figures was defeated 2,5:3,5 by Russian “TPS” from Saransk in the sixth round of European team chess cup. In the other competitions of this round Yerevan “King of Banks” with black figures won 4,5:1,5 Hungarian “Haladash” team. Tigran Kotanjian played a draw with Miklosh Nemet, Smbat Lputian – with Imre Hera and Davit Harutyunian – with Gabor Kovach. Ashot Anastasian won Mikhail Rockel, Artashes Minasian – Tamash Rook, Arthur Chibukhchian – Attila Chonk. Yerevan “FIMA” with white figures was defeated 2,5:3,5 by German “Edweiser Invest” team from Baden. Yuri Hambartsumian won Stefan Brandner, Zaven Andreasian played a draw with Bartosh Sosko, Hrant Melkumian was defeated by Zaba Balog, Avetik Grigorian and Arman Hayrapetian were defeated respectively by Igor Reuses and Sebastian Zibrecht and Hovik Khalikian won Mikhal Sulak. After the sixth round “The King of Banks” is in the 11th place with 8 team points, and “Mika” – in the 16th . “FIMA” is in the 28th place within 64 participants with 6 team points. And the leader is “Baden-Baden” with 11 points. Four teams gained 10 points. In the women’s tournament Yerevan “Mika” with white figures won 4:0 Lithuanian “Panevezhis” club. Elina Danielian won Dejmante Daukajte, Maya Chiburdanidze – Dagne Chjuksyute, Yekaterina Lahno – Yulia Makein and Lilit Mkrtchian won Simona Limonajte. “Mika” is in the eighth place with eight team points. Monaco “Circle de Eshes” is the leader of the tournament with 11 points, Montenegrin “Podgoritsa” and Russian “Economist” from Saratov have 9 points and share the 2-3 places.
