YEREVAN, DECEMBER 19, ARMENPRESS:Armenian foreign minister Vartan Oskanian reiterated today the strategic importance of Georgia to Armenia, saying this provision is incorporated into Armenia’s national security strategy, a document that was approved last week by an inter-agency commission. Oskanian said this document will be approved by the government some days later. Oskanian explained that ‘strategic partnership’ means a partnership, which is viable to a nation. “The pipeline shipping gas to Armenia runs across Georgia. It is also the main conduit of Armenia towards north and the Black Sea,” he said. Oskanian also commented on a similar strategy of Georgia that defines Armenia as a “a close friendly nation,’ saying it is up to Georgia to how define its neighbors. “It is not a problem for Armenia,’ he added.
