UNDERRATED INVOICES PRESENTED BY IMPORTERS DECLINE

1 minute read

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS:A senior customs official attributed the drastic decrease in the number of underrated invoices by Armenian importers to improved administration and set of other measures. Samvel Avetikian, head of a department at Ararat customs office, said today businessmen are now trying to provide true invoices which reflect the true cost of goods they bring in to Armenia, mainly from Turkey, Iran, China, the United Arab Emirates and CIS countries. He said these measures were taken after president Robert Kocharian’s 2005 instruction that customs officers should focus on underrated invoices ‘since the true customs cost of imported goods is essential for defining the real foreign trade balance.”
