YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 10, ARMENPRESS:Thousands of Armenians will pay their respect today and tomorrow to a popular singer Aram Asatryan, 53, who collapsed during a baptism celebration on Tuesday in which he was participating as “godfather”. He was rushed to Etchmiadzin City Hospital, but he was already dead on arrival. Asatryan was born in Etchmiadzin and lived there most of his life, before moving to the United States a few years ago. The singer’s son died in a car crash last year in the States. Asatryan came to Armenia a few days ago and intended to leave on concert tours to Russia and Europe. He had recorded 22 CDs and was a three-time Armenian Music Award winner. He founded Star Records Studio in Los Angeles, and in 2003, Asatryan received the “Gusan” (Bard) Prize from the Armenian Ministry of Culture.-0-/39/
