ARMENIAN AMBASSADOR IN ROME PRAISES ITALIAN-ARMENIAN ECONOMIC RELATIONS

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 24, ARMENPRESS:Armenian ambassador to Italy Gagik Baghdasarian praised the pace of development of Italian-Armenian economic and trade relations. In an interview with Italian Scena Illustratum magazine he said that the commodity turnover between Italy and Armenia has increased five times in the last five years. He cited several company names, such as Renco Engineering and Construction, Lovable, Grandi Mollini, Artegraphica Paganini, which he said are doing successful business in Armenia. Armenian companies buy some 100 kinds of products in Italy. According to Baghdasarian, there is substantial potential for further development in high technologies, tourism, garment and shoes production sectors. "It is clear that such a small country as Armenia cannot arouse great interest in Italy as a new market, but Armenia hss all possibilities to become a kind of small Italy, that would be an exporting country," he said, adding that Italian economic model, based on small and medium sized enterprises, can serve as a good example for Armenia.
