VANADZOR, SEPTEMBER 4, ARMENPRESS:Two irrigation pipelines, 8 and 7 km long each which are to be constructed in several villages in the province of Lori, namely, Dsegh, Akner, Sanahin and Haghpat, will provide the local farmers with water that will reach them due to gravity flow, saving them from paying for electricity and other bills. Funds for construction of the irrigation lines are provided by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The water will go from the River Debed to the fields and a small hydro power plant with a capacity of around 600 kWh will also be built at a pumping station in Dsegh. The irrigation lines have been designed and soon a tender will be announced to choose the construction company.
