RUSSIAN SKINHEADS FAIL TO DISRUPT ARMENIAN CONCERT

MOSCOW, JUNE 21, ARMENPRESS:The local police in Russian town of Istra, near Moscow, prevented an imminent clash between a group of drunk and doped Russian skinheads and members of an Armenian musical group, who were performing at the local culture house in a concert dedicated to the Independence Day of Russia. The police squad dispatched to the spot arrived on time and circling the members of Armenian °Zvartnosts° ensemble escorted them to the bus which took them from Istra to Moscow. On the way from the building to the bus the skinheads surrounded the °safety echelon° - cursing and threatening the Armenian musicians. The Armenian ensemble of the Moscow-based Armenian Art Center was invited to participate in the concert dedicated to the Independence Day of Russia.
