YEREVAN, JUNE 13, ARMENPRESS:Seven Armenian construction companies have bid for the contract to thoroughly repair the Yerevan Opera and Ballet House. The tender will be taking place June 14. Another tender for major repair of Yerevan Spendiarov Theater will be taking place late in June with ten bidding companies. Funds for restoration of these theaters are released by Lincy Foundation, set up by a US billionaire of Armenian descent Kirk Kerkorian. Vazgen Poghosian, chairman of the Union of Armenian Builders told a Wednesday news conference that the $7 million, released from the same Fund for improvement of a dozen streets in central Yerevan may turn out to be sufficient also for improvement of another central street, Komitas Avenue and also to complete improvement of an area adjacent to recently constructed Davidashen Bridge, linking a residential area with the center of the town.
