YEREVAN, AUGUST 13, ARMENPRESS:Five of 119 secondary schools of the Armenian province of Armavir will be tuned into high schools: three of them will operate in Etchmiadzin, one in Armavir and one in Metsamor towns. Head of the Science, Sports and Culture Department of the Armavir’s Governor Office Andranik Tovmasyan said that the schools have been partially reconstructed and are ready for new academic year. In 2008 over 39,169 pupils studied in the 119 secondary schools. This year the number of first graders, according to initial information, will exceed 3,000. Seven colleges and academies are functioning in Armavir province – four of them in the town of Armavir and 3 in Etchmiadzin.
