Hundreds of fans gathered at Zvartnots International Airport to welcome Armenia’s men’s artistic gymnastics team home following their triumphant performance at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Gymnastics Federation of Armenia President Gagik Vanoyan was also at the airport to welcome the gymnasts and their coaches.

Armenia’s artistic gymnastics head coach Hakob Serobyan said the team had achieved results beyond expectations at the World Championships.

“We were prepared to win two medals, and our guys were ready as well. They understood that they had to perform well at these World Championships. For any country, it is a great achievement when all its participants reach the finals. It is another thing entirely when all four participants win medals. We have four participants and four medals, which makes our performance at the World Championships a 100 percent success,” Serobyan said.

At the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Rotterdam, Artur Davtyan won gold in the vault, while Hamlet Manukyan claimed gold in the pommel horse. Artur Avetisyan won bronze in the rings, and Mamikon Khachatryan took bronze in the pommel horse.
