Efforts to open the Armenia-Türkiye border are ongoing, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said.

He told reporters that Armenia is working with both Türkiye and Azerbaijan on the matter.

“Azerbaijan has certain reservations regarding this issue, and that is where the process stands today. But we continue to work with both Azerbaijan and Türkiye to reach certain solutions,” Pashinyan said.

Türkiye unilaterally closed its land border with Armenia in 1993. The two countries have intensified normalization efforts in recent years, and Armenia has said it stands ready for Türkiye to open the border at any time. The border checkpoints have been upgraded and are ready to operate.
