IPU 153rd Assembly: Armenian, Belgian delegates hold meeting

The Armenian parliament’s deputy speaker, Vahagn Aleksanyan, met with Karl Vanlouwe, head of the Belgian parliamentary delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), and members of the delegation on October 7 on the sidelines of the 153rd IPU Assembly.
The meeting was also attended by Armenian MPs Tsovinar Vardanyan and Hasmik Hakobyan, members of the Armenian parliamentary delegation to the IPU.
The parliament’s press service said the sides discussed issues related to bilateral relations between Armenia and Belgium and parliamentary cooperation. They emphasized the importance of further developing and deepening cooperation between the two countries’ parliaments, highlighting the importance of intensifying interparliamentary dialogue and maintaining regular contacts on matters of mutual interest.
The sides also discussed Armenia-EU relations, particularly the visa liberalization process. They also addressed issues related to the parliamentary elections held in Armenia.
The importance of continuing mutual visits and high-level contacts was emphasized as an important component of strengthening bilateral relations and further deepening parliamentary cooperation.
