The National Assembly Council has approved the draft agenda for the regular sittings beginning on 6 October, comprising two items, and determined the order in which they will be discussed.

National Assembly Speaker Ruben Rubinyan chaired the Council meeting held on 5 October.

The draft agenda includes setting the number of members of the investigative commission examining issues concerning the Holy Armenian Apostolic Church and amending the Law on Holidays and Commemoration Days of the Republic of Armenia.

The Council also approved draft additions to the agenda of the second session of the ninth convocation of the National Assembly, along with the membership of friendship groups and delegations to interparliamentary commissions. An addition was made to National Assembly Council Decision No. AZhKhO-002-L of 26 May 2017.

The meeting also approved the timetable for preliminary discussions of the draft 2027 state budget in the National Assembly’s standing committees and their joint meetings, the submission of proposals and amendments by the government.

Under the timetable, committee discussions will begin at 10:00 on 2 November and continue until 9 November. The first joint meeting is scheduled to discuss the main macroeconomic indicators underpinning the draft budget, revenue and expenditure, and the Central Bank’s opinion.

The committee discussions are to be summarised by 18:00 on 11 November. MPs and parliamentary factions must submit their written proposals on the draft budget to the National Assembly staff by the same deadline. The staff will forward them to the government by 15:00 on 12 November.

The draft budget is scheduled to be included in the agenda of the National Assembly’s regular sittings beginning on 17 November.
