Head of the Civil Contract faction of the Armenian National Assembly Arusyak Manavazyan and members of the faction met a delegation led by Secretary-General of the European People’s Party (EPP) Dolors Montserrat on September 24.
According to a statement issued by the Armenian National Assembly, the sides discussed issues related to deepening cooperation with the EPP in various formats.
The guests expressed interest in the specifics of conducting electoral processes in Armenia, reforms to the Electoral Code and the Law on Political Parties, the financial transparency of political parties, as well as women’s participation in political parties.
Members of the faction spoke about Armenia’s European aspirations and addressed the holding of internal party elections. The importance of creating a gender-sensitive environment was emphasised.
The interlocutors highlighted the importance of advancing democratic agendas and reforms aimed at achieving this.
