Sargis Khandanyan sees significant potential for broader presence of Armenian products in China

There is significant potential to develop trade and economic relations between Armenia and China, particularly to expand the presence of Armenian products in the Chinese market.
Citing a statement from the Armenian National Assembly, Sargis Khandanyan, Chair of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, made the remarks during a meeting with a delegation headed by Lou Qinjian, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China.
“China is one of Armenia’s main trading partners. We have impressive figures in terms of bilateral trade, but there is significant potential to develop trade and economic relations, particularly in terms of presenting Armenian products more widely in China,” Khandanyan said.
He noted that Armenian-Chinese relations had gained new momentum following the establishment of a strategic partnership in 2025, creating opportunities to deepen cooperation in various fields.
Lou Qinjian thanked the Armenian side for supporting the One China principle and stressed that China respects Armenia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
During the meeting, it was noted that new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries are emerging within the framework of China’s Belt and Road Initiative and the Armenian Government’s Crossroads of Peace project.
The sides also discussed deepening cooperation in the economic, educational, cultural, tourism and legal fields. They also addressed the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which, according to the Armenian parliamentarians, is creating new opportunities for development in the region.
