Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Nobel Prize-winning economist Abhijit Banerjee, one of the world’s leading economists.
According to a statement issued by the Office of the Prime Minister, Pashinyan welcomed Banerjee’s visit to Armenia and highlighted the importance of cooperation in policy development, assessment of programme impacts and other areas.
Pashinyan noted that the Armenian Government is implementing large-scale reforms covering all sectors. In this context, he stressed the need for active dialogue and exchange of experience between various Armenian government bodies, the Central Bank and Banerjee.
Banerjee thanked Pashinyan for the warm welcome and expressed his readiness to expand cooperation with Armenian partners with the aim of advancing reforms more effectively.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on issues related to further cooperation.
