Plácido Domingo and Asmik Grigorian to perform in Yerevan at concert marking Gegham Grigorian’s 75th anniversary

A gala concert marking the 75th anniversary of the late renowned tenor and international opera legend Gegham Grigorian will be held at the Armenian National Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Alexander Spendiaryan on October 16.

The concert’s special guest will be Plácido Domingo, one of the world’s leading opera stars.

Gegham Grigorian and Plácido Domingo were connected by their artistic collaboration, long-standing friendship and mutual respect. Their work together represents a significant chapter in the history of international opera.

Gegham Grigorian’s daughter, Asmik Grigorian, one of today’s most renowned opera singers, will perform alongside Domingo. She has appeared at New York’s Metropolitan Opera, La Scala in Milan, the Vienna State Opera, the Royal Opera House in London, the Paris Opera and the Salzburg Festival.

Grigorian is a recipient of the International Opera Award and Opus Klassik and has twice been named Singer of the Year by Opernwelt magazine.

The concert will also feature Barseg Tumanyan, Hovhannes Ayvazyan, Liparit Avetisyan, Evgeny Nikitin, Tatiana Pavlovskaya and Irena Milkevičiūtė, as well as Gegham Grigorian’s colleagues, close associates and students.

The evening’s musical director and conductor will be Gegham Grigorian’s eldest son, Vardan Grigorian.
