Pashinyan says honored to receive Hessian Peace Prize

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said he was honored to receive the Hessian Peace Prize at a ceremony in Wiesbaden, Germany, on Thursday, thanking the organizers for the recognition.

“It is a great honor to receive the Hessian Peace Prize for efforts aimed at establishing peace in the South Caucasus. Thank you for the recognition,” Pashinyan wrote on his Facebook page.

The awarding ceremony was held at the Landtag of Hesse, the unicameral parliament of the German state of Hesse.

The Hessian Peace Prize has been presented by the Albert Osswald Foundation since 1994. It recognizes individuals who have rendered outstanding service to peace and international cooperation.

The prize was established by former Hesse Prime Minister Albert Osswald and his family. The Hessian Peace Prize committee includes representatives of peace research institutes and the Hessian State Parliament. The Peace Research Institute Frankfurt advises the committee on the selection of awardees.
