Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was awarded the Hessian Peace Prize at a ceremony held on Thursday in Wiesbaden, Germany, for his efforts to establish peace in the South Caucasus.
Pashinyan’s spokesperson Melania Harutyunyan posted photos from the ceremony held at the Landtag of Hesse, the German state’s unicameral parliament.
The Hessian Peace Prize has been presented by the Albert Osswald Foundation since 1994. It recognizes individuals who have rendered outstanding service to peace and international cooperation.
The prize was established by former Hesse Prime Minister Albert Osswald and his family. The Hessian Peace Prize committee includes representatives of peace research institutes and the Hessian State Parliament. The Peace Research Institute Frankfurt advises the committee on the selection of awardees.
