Public administration to switch to remote work during COP17 to ease traffic

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced that Armenia’s public administration system will switch to remote work for several days while Yerevan hosts the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), in an effort to reduce and ease traffic congestion.

Several streets will be closed to traffic during those days.

“Probably, for several days the public administration system will switch to remote work, meaning such decisions will be made for those who do not need to be at the venue where COP is being held, and similar measures will also be taken,” Pashinyan said.

COP17 will be held in Yerevan from October 19-30, 2026, under Armenia’s COP17 presidency.
