Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that all countries participating in the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) project, both in the region and beyond, will benefit from its implementation in Armenia.
“This includes the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America. We view TRIPP in the context of our ‘Crossroads of Peace’ project, and we see it as a tool for peace, not the opposite. We must take advantage of this opportunity,” Pashinyan said at a press briefing.
The Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) is a connectivity project in Armenia envisaged under the U.S.-brokered Armenian-Azerbaijani joint declaration signed in Washington, D.C. The project is expected to unlock strategic economic opportunities, create long-term benefits through infrastructure investment and enhance regional connectivity. An Armenian-American joint enterprise is expected to develop the route.
Armenia and the United States signed the framework agreement on strategic cooperation concerning the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) in early June, a week after it was initialed in Yerevan during U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s visit. The agreement is set to undergo ratification in parliament following the Constitutional Court’s recent approval, in accordance with standard procedure.
