U.S. envoy lauds ‘great progress’ in talks with Belarus

Belarus and the United States have made "great progress" during another round of talks in Minsk, U.S. Special Envoy for Belarus John Coale told the media in Minsk on 16 September, the Belarusian BelTA news agency reported.

“It is a great pleasure to be in this country once again. Our talks went on for a very long time. These talks will continue. We have made great progress, from my point of view. And we will continue our joint work,” the U.S. special envoy said.

According to him, the parties discussed international issues, bilateral agenda and other matters of mutual interest.

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko met with representatives of U.S. President Donald Trump’s team, led by U.S. Special Envoy for Belarus John Coale, in Minsk on 15 September.
