Russian and South African presidents meet

Russian President Vladimir Putin and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa have met on the sidelines of the BRICS summit taking place in India.

This was reported by a RIA Novosti correspondent.

The Russian leader arrived in New Delhi on September 11 for a three-day working visit to participate in the 18th BRICS Summit. As part of the forum, Vladimir Putin is expected to hold a number of separate international meetings.

One of them was a meeting with the South African President.

“Putin and Ramaphosa maintain close contact,” Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said.

The leaders previously held talks at the BRICS Summit in Kazan in 2024.

According to Ushakov, their next meeting in India will provide an opportunity to discuss numerous issues of bilateral cooperation and topical matters on the international agenda.
