Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has emphasized the need to fully utilize Armenia’s tourism potential.
“We continue to work consistently towards diversifying our exports, and the process is underway,” he said at a Cabinet meeting.
“When talking about exports, especially seasonal agricultural products and products in general, we must always also keep tourism in mind, because in a specific substantive sense, tourism is also an export from this perspective. A person should purchase fruit or vegetables from a supermarket in their own country, but comes to Armenia and purchases them here,” Pashinyan said.
He noted that tourist flows have made it possible to keep the situation manageable and record positive developments.
“I must note with satisfaction that tourist flows this year have allowed us to keep the situation manageable, and we have very good developments in the tourism sector. We must continue working consistently in this direction,” the Prime Minister said.
According to Pashinyan, there are no obstacles to fully utilizing Armenia’s tourism potential under conditions of peace.
“Especially in an environment of peace and under conditions of peace, I think there are no obstacles to utilizing Armenia’s entire tourism potential, and we must continue our work in this direction,” he said.
The Prime Minister also addressed posts about Armenia on social media, emphasizing the activity of tourists.
“The good news is that social media and people’s activity there, especially the activity of those people who discover Armenia for themselves, are very actively engaged in presenting Armenia,” Pashinyan said.
He thanked tourists visiting Armenia for their posts about the country and their activity.
“I want to thank all those tourists for their activity and say that the government sees that activity, appreciates it, and is happy to welcome everyone to the Republic of Armenia,” the Prime Minister added.
In January-June of this year, 1 million 41 thousand 598 tourists visited Armenia, which was an increase of 14.8 percent compared to the same period in 2025. The largest numbers of tourists came to Armenia from Russia, Georgia, and Iran. The list of the top ten countries includes China, Germany, the USA, Ukraine, Italy, France, and India.
