Armenia and Uzbekistan held political consultations in Yerevan, co-led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Armenia Mnatsakan Safaryan and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bobur Usmanov.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade said in a press release that the two sides discussed a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda and multilateral cooperation, including political dialogue at the highest and high levels, emphasizing the importance of further developing bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in various areas.
Mnatsakan Safaryan and Bobur Usmanov paid particular attention to prospects for deepening trade and economic ties, promoting investment, and cooperation in the fields of high technologies, education and tourism.
Promoting partnerships between business communities and maintaining active dialogue were considered an important step. In this regard, the interlocutors welcomed the resumption of direct air service between Yerevan and Tashkent and agreed to intensify efforts to deepen cooperation in the area of connectivity.
The deputy foreign ministers of Armenia and Uzbekistan emphasized the importance of expanding the legal framework of bilateral relations to realize the existing potential for cooperation in various areas.
They also discussed mutual participation in international events held in Armenia and Uzbekistan, as well as cooperation in international organizations.
