Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has held a meeting with representatives of the Oxford Alumni Business Club of Armenia.
Alexander Shaghikyan, Chairman of the Board, presented details of the activities of the NGO.
He said the club is a professional platform for alumni active in Armenia and brings together individuals educated at the University of Oxford who represent the fields of business, finance, technology, public policy, and professional services.
According to a readout, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was presented with initiatives concerning the establishment of a global network of Armenian alumni of the world’s top 50 universities and the engagement of their potential, the establishment of a fund to support talented young people, and the organization of the “Armenia-United Kingdom Business Forum,” planned to be held in Yerevan in October.
Pashinyan welcomed the work aimed at establishing a global network of Armenian alumni of the world’s top 50 universities and engaging their potential in various fields, and noted that combining this initiative with the Government’s program to invite alumni of the world’s top 200 universities to the public sector would further contribute to the implementation of the program’s key objectives. In this context, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of engaging highly qualified specialists in the public administration system and consistently carrying out work in this direction.
Pashinyan also welcomed the initiative to establish a fund to support talented young people and, in this regard, emphasized systematic solutions aimed at identifying the potential of gifted teenagers and young people starting at the elementary school level and ensuring their high-quality education.
Regarding the organization of the “Armenia-United Kingdom Business Forum,” Nikol Pashinyan deemed effective cooperation with the relevant agencies necessary, noting that such events could contribute to diversifying economic cooperation and expanding and developing business ties.
An agreement was reached to continue cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Oxford Alumni Business Club of Armenia NGO for the effective implementation of the aforementioned initiatives.
