Tax authorities on Thursday reported a significant increase in revenues in January–August.

State Revenue Committee Chairman Eduard Hakobyan said at the Cabinet meeting that Armenia collected AMD 258 billion more ($708.8 million) in tax revenues in January–August compared with the same period last year.

“We have already summed up August. In January–August, we recorded 14.6% growth. This means we are ahead of the planned target and also indicates a continued reduction of the shadow economy. Compared with last year, AMD 258 billion more in tax revenues were collected in January–August,” Hakobyan said.
