The US Mint has issued a 2026 one-dollar coin featuring sitting President Donald Trump. It is the first time the face of a president has appeared on a coin intended for everyday circulation, and the coin is already in circulation, Euronews reported.
The US Mint confirmed the release of the gold-coloured one-dollar coin featuring President Donald Trump. The agency urged people to check their loose change, while offering collectors the opportunity to purchase the coins in rolls and bags sold exclusively by the Mint.
The retail price is $61 for a pack containing 25 coins and $154.50 for a bag containing 100 coins. In practice, finding such a coin in everyday circulation will be difficult, as one-dollar coins have never gained widespread popularity among American consumers and circulate far less frequently than banknotes.
Despite its colour, the coin contains no gold. It is made of 88.5% copper, with zinc, manganese and nickel also added.
