Hundreds of tourists are reported missing following devastating floods in Nepal.
The Daily Mail reported, citing authorities, that 384 tourists and trekkers are missing.
Of them, 291 are foreign nationals and 93 are citizens of Nepal.
The missing include 12 Britons, 105 Indian nationals, four South Africans, 17 Malaysian nationals and three U.S. citizens. One citizen each from Australia and the Netherlands is also reported missing.
South Korea said it has been unable to contact eight of its citizens, while another 12 are stranded in the disaster zone.
The nationalities of around 100 people have yet to be determined.
On August 26, Nepal sent helicopters to flood-affected areas for rescue operations. The floods reportedly swept away villages and destroyed buildings and bridges.
According to officials, at least eight people have died as a result of the floods.
Nepal’s government said that, according to preliminary information, an earthquake triggered an avalanche, which in turn caused the flooding.
