An exchange of Russian and Ukrainian citizens on a 10-for-10 basis has taken place in Belarus’s Gomel region, Russian media reported.
“Ten Ukrainian citizens who were in Belarus but, unfortunately, violated immigration and other laws are returning to Ukraine, to their homeland, to their loved ones and families. Ten Russian prisoners of war, in turn, will be handed over to the Russian Federation across the Belarusian border,” said Irina Kostevich, a member of the House of Representatives of the Belarusian parliament.
The exchange of citizens was carried out on the instructions of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
