A drone attack on the M/V RMS TEAM cargo ship in the Black Sea left one sailor missing and 11 others rescued, while a fire broke out on board, according to the transport-sector portal lojiport.com.
The vessel is operated by Turkish company Akkon Lines. According to the company, the ship and its cargo may be considered beyond economical repair due to the extent of the damage sustained.
The vessel departed from Türkiye’s Gemlik port on August 12 and was sailing to Russia’s Novorossiysk port.
No party has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, and the circumstances surrounding the incident are still being clarified.
