Voting under way in National Assembly on Strong Armenia’s new candidate for chair of Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Committee

Voting has begun in the National Assembly on the candidacy of Strong Armenia faction MP Liana Manukyan for the post of Chair of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs. The voting began at 16:50 and will last 45 minutes.

The candidates initially nominated for chair of three standing committees selected by the Strong Armenia faction — the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, the Standing Committee on European Integration, and the Standing Committee on Territorial Administration and Environmental Protection — failed to secure enough votes on the first attempt.

Hayk Farmanyan, nominated by the Strong Armenia faction for the post of Chair of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, received 40 votes in favour and 61 against. On its second attempt, Strong Armenia nominated Liana Manukyan for the post.

Arega Hovsepyan, nominated for the post of Chair of the Standing Committee on European Integration, received 40 votes in favour and 62 against. On its second attempt, Strong Armenia nominated Harutyun Harutyunyan for the post.

Davit Ghazinyan, nominated by the Strong Armenia faction for the post of Chair of the Standing Committee on Territorial Administration and Environmental Protection, received 40 votes in favour and 62 against.
